Rebecca Jones, Director of Data Science & Research at the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority, oversees the analysis of data from the largest patient safety database of its kind in the country. This flu season, DPH underscores importance of vaccination requirements for health care workers

All health care personnel in the state are required to be vaccinated annually against influenza and COVID-19 by March 31, 2026. “Protecting patients begins with protecting the people who care for them,” said Massachusetts Department of Public Health Commissioner Robbie Goldstein, M.D., Ph.D.

MHA, Joint Commission and the state legislature support efforts to prevent workplace violence in health care facilities

New resources are available from the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association and the Joint Commission to help health care organizations address the growing risk of violence at their facilities. In a sign of increased support from legislators, the Massachusetts House of Representatives recently advanced legislation requiring health care employers to implement violence prevention programs.
